Special Session: Integrated AI and Communication Networks
Integrating AI with communication networks has emerged great potential to further improve communication network performance. This Topic aims to explore the exciting potential of AI in revolutionizing wireless communications and networking. Contributions will address the applications of AI algorithms in different communication networks including but not limiting to ground networks, aerial networks and space networks, empowering networks with self-configuring, self-optimizing, and self-healing capabilities.

Huasen He received the B.S. degree in automation from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in digital communications from the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, U.K., in 2018. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Information Science and Technology, USTC. His research interests include Space-Air-Ground integrated communication networks, intelligent decision-making of unmanned systems and future networks. He won the Best Paper Award and the Best Poster Award of ICAUS 2024. He serves in several reviewer boards for international conferences and journals.

Yongyi Ran received the B.S. degree and Ph.D. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China, in 2008 and 2014, respectively. He is currently a Lecturer at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China. He worked as a Research Fellow in the Cloud Computing and Application Platform (CAP) Group at Nanyang Technological University from 2019 to 2020 and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at University of Massachusetts Lowell from 2017 to 2018. His research interests include deep reinforcement learning, green data center, and intelligent satellite networks.

Shuangwu Chen received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China, in 2011 and 2016, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Automation, USTC. He worked as a Research Fellow in the Multimedia Lab at State University of Newyork at Buffalo from 2015 to 2016. His research interests include multimedia communications, network communication and network security. He won the best paper awards of ICOIN 2021 and SecurComm 2024.
